JULY 21, 2019: The new theory of decluttering is…hold the item in your hands…if it doesn’t give you joy, out it goes! So far, I’ve thrown out a magnifying mirror and a size 8 bathing suit.
JULY 22, 2019: Mother nature sent a mini tornado our way late tonight. Heard the “train” noise then loud thumps on roof and deck. Too dark to see damage. No leaks so far. Can’t sleep.
JULY 23, 2019: Up at daylight. Looks like half a tree on roof. Deck covered in limbs, debris, can’t open door onto deck. Called my great lawn guys – on their way. Scared about roof.
JULY 24, 2019: Chris and Terry worked all day yesterday. Got tree off roof and most limbs off deck. Chain saws going all over neighborhood. Roads open. Debris everywhere.
JULY 25, 2019: Roof guys came today. No major damage, Whew! So far the lawn guys have hauled away four trailer loads and four truckloads of limbs. They estimate two more of each.
JULY 26, 2019: Drove around neighborhood today. Huge trees twisted out of ground and tops of trees twisted off. A couple of houses with trees through roof. So lucky my damage wasn’t worse!
JULY 27, 2019: Had a minute to reflect today. Wonder where the deer herd huddled down when the trees were blowing away. Saw a doe with three fawns a few days ago. Hope they survived.
JULY 28, 2019: Learned something new about myself today. It only takes one slow-moving person in a three-person-deep grocery aisle to turn me into the “Grinch.”
JULY 29, 2019: Paid for all the tree removal today. Need to either move to a condo with no trees or get a third job. I’m thinking?! I’m thinking?!
JULY 30, 2019: Another great Tuesday swallowed up by work and responsibilities. Need more ice cream or chocolate, or maybe both.
JULY 31, 2019: Who stole July? Guess I can partially blame it on Mother Nature and her storms. Please Mother, no more temper tantrums for a while. Need peace and quiet.
